Calculatorpreliminary calculation
Spouses’ property
Marital property division calculator
Add the assets already included in the shared list, enter their agreed or confirmed value and intended recipient. For a property division in Kyiv or Kyiv Region, the calculator can check the arithmetic but does not determine the legal status of the items or resolve the dispute.

Asset distribution and preliminary compensation
The default is 50/50. Enter a different percentage for Party A only if it is recorded in an agreement, contract, or decision.
For each asset, enter its name, value, and recipient. An undistributed asset is included in the total value but prevents a final compensation calculation.
Privacy: the calculation runs in your browser. Data is not sent over the network unless you decide to send the result with an inquiry.
Preliminary result
Distribution completedParty A → Party B
Party A’s target is rounded to the nearest kopeck, and Party B receives the remainder of the total. Compensation is also determined to the nearest kopeck.
Caution: Debts and mutual claims are not included. The calculator does not determine which property is joint or personal, model a court’s departure from equal shares, or check consent, an advance deposit, exceptions, or other legal conditions for compensation.

What exactly the calculator calculates
The tool works with a prepared list of assets entered by the user. It totals their value, determines each party’s target amount using the selected ratio, and compares it with the assets actually transferred.
If all assets have been allocated, the party with assets exceeding its target amount arithmetically compensates the other party for the difference. This is a value-balancing model, not a conclusion about ownership, the method of division, or an obligation to pay money.
Calculation methodology
Value distribution methodology
- The user adds only the assets they have already decided to include in the calculation and enters their value in hryvnias and kopecks.
- The calculator totals all assets without accounting for debts and applies equal 50/50 shares or Party A’s share as documented and entered.
- Party A’s target is rounded to the nearest kopeck; Party B’s target is the exact remainder of the total value.
- The value of assets allocated to Party A, Party B and not yet allocated is totaled separately.
- Final compensation is calculated only after all assets are allocated: the party receiving an arithmetically excessive share of assets pays the party receiving less.
Example of a 50/50 division
The parties agreed to include an apartment worth UAH 2,400,000 and a car worth UAH 600,000 in the calculation. The apartment goes to Party A and the car to Party B.
- Total asset value: UAH 3,000,000
- Target shares: 50% / 50%
- Party A receives assets worth UAH 2,400,000
- Party B receives assets worth UAH 600,000
Each party’s target is UAH 1,500,000. To equalize the amounts arithmetically, Party A must compensate Party B by UAH 900,000.
The example does not prove that the assets are jointly owned or confirm that compensation is legally possible without consent, proper valuation, and formalization.
What to check in the documents
- Marriage or divorce certificate and the dates each asset was acquired.
- Purchase and gift agreements, inheritance documents, registry extracts, and evidence of the source of funds.
- An independent valuation or other agreed documents confirming the current value of the assets.
- Prenuptial agreement, division agreement or court decision if the shares differ from 50/50.
- The agreed list of what transfers to each party and how any compensation will be documented.

Frequently asked questions
Does the calculator determine which property belongs jointly to the spouses?
No. Only assets you selected are included. The legal regime of each item depends on the date and basis of acquisition, source of funds, agreements, and evidence.
Why is the initial allocation 50/50?
This is a basic arithmetic model of equal shares. The law provides for nuances and possible judicial departure from equality, which the calculator does not assess.
When can you enter a different share for Party A?
When the specific ratio is supported by an agreement, contract, decision, or another document you actually rely on. The calculator does not select a percentage on its own.
Why is there no compensation if the asset has not yet been allocated?
Until the recipient of at least one asset is known, the final value of each party’s property cannot be determined. Only intermediate amounts are shown, with no final payment.
Are loans and other debts taken into account?
No. The tool deliberately calculates only the assets entered. Debts, security, loan balances, and mutual claims require separate analysis.
Is the calculated compensation legally required to be paid?
No. This is an arithmetic estimate. Consent, an advance deposit, special exceptions, the form of the transaction, property valuation, and court procedure must be checked separately.
