The calculator does not check whether cassation appeal is available for the specific case category, whether the start date was determined correctly, or whether there are grounds to renew the deadline.

The brief summary is easy to paste into a message to a lawyer or save for yourself.

What the calculator takes into account

The Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine sets a general 30-day period for a cassation appeal against a court decision. The period for a ruling is also calculated under Article 390, but the start date may depend on whether the party was present and when they received the full text.

The calculation shows only the calendar deadline. Before filing, separately check the grounds for cassation, the claim value, the type of dispute, the court fee, and evidence of the date the decision was received.

Methodology

Calculation methodology

Methodology for determining the cassation deadline

  1. The user selects the scenario and date from which the deadline is calculated in their case.
  2. The calculator starts counting on the calendar day after this date.
  3. Add 30 calendar days to the start date.
  4. If the final day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the result moves to Monday.
Example

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

From what date should the 30 days be counted?

This depends on when the decision was pronounced, when the full text was prepared, and when the party received a copy. Confirm the date from the case file, postal records, or e-cabinet.

Can a cassation appeal always be filed after an appeal?

No. Cassation appeals are subject to procedural filters and depend on the case category, amount in dispute, and grounds relied on by the applicant.

What to do if the time limit has already expired?

Need to assess whether there are valid reasons for missing the deadline and proof of the date the full text was received. A motion to renew the deadline does not guarantee that cassation proceedings will be opened.

Does the calculator account for public holidays?

No. The tool moves only Saturday and Sunday. Official holidays and special non-working days must be checked separately before filing.
