Child support guidelines
Child support benchmark calculator for 2026
Select the child’s age group to see three different guidelines: the guaranteed minimum, the recommended minimum and the upper limit specifically for order proceedings. The calculator uses the 2026 subsistence minimum and does not predict the amount a court will set in a case in Kyiv or Kyiv Region.

Guidelines by the child’s age for 2026
The tool shows statutory thresholds; it does not calculate the payer’s income, the child’s needs, or the future outcome of the case.
Select the child’s age group on the date for which you are checking the payment amount.
Financial estimates
Not a court predictionFormulas: 2 817,00 UAH × 50% = 1 408,50 UAH
Important: The court considers the health and financial circumstances of the child and payer, other dependants, property, expenses, and other material circumstances. The calculator does not determine the proper income share, fixed amount, or outcome of a specific case.

How to read the result

- Minimum recommended amount
- 2 817,00 UAH × 100% = 2 817,00 UAH100% of the subsistence minimum may be awarded if the child support payer has sufficient income.

- 2 817,00 UAH × 10 = 28 170,00 UAH10 subsistence minimums for a child is the upper limit on the share of income that may be requested in a court order under paragraph 4 of part one of Article 161 of the Civil Procedure Code. This is not a general maximum for a claim or a notarized agreement.
- Calculation base
- 2026 year
The court considers the health and financial circumstances of the child and payer, other dependants, property, expenses, and other material circumstances. The calculator does not determine the proper income share, fixed amount, or outcome of a specific case.
The brief summary is easy to paste into a message to a lawyer or save for yourself.
What do the three amounts mean
Article 182 of the Family Code distinguishes the guaranteed and recommended minimum amounts. The guaranteed minimum for one child is at least 50% of the subsistence minimum for the child’s age. The recommended minimum is the full subsistence minimum and may be awarded if the payer’s income is sufficient.
For 2026, the State Budget Law sets the subsistence minimum at UAH 2,817 for children under 6 and UAH 3,512 for children aged 6 to 18. The calculator does not carry these values over to other budget years.
The separately shown tenfold limit applies only to one simplified court-order claim: an income share under paragraph 4 of part one of Article 161 of the Civil Procedure Code. It is not a universal maximum for child support in claim proceedings or a notarized agreement between parents.
Calculation methodology
Calculation methodology
- We identify the child’s age group on the date for which an estimate is needed.
- Use the subsistence minimum in Article 7 of the 2026 State Budget Law: UAH 2,817 or UAH 3,512.
- Multiply the subsistence minimum by 50% to get the guaranteed minimum amount.
- We show 100% of the subsistence minimum as the recommended minimum, which depends on whether the payer’s income is sufficient.
- We separately multiply the subsistence minimum by 10 only as a cap for an income share in order proceedings.
- We do not add unverified income or number of children, to avoid creating the illusion of predicting a court decision.
Example for a child under 6
A recipient in Kyiv is preparing an application concerning one five-year-old child and first wants to distinguish the statutory monetary guidelines.
- Age group: child under 6
- Subsistence minimum in 2026: UAH 2,817
Guaranteed minimum — UAH 1,408.50; recommended minimum — UAH 2,817; separate income-share limit for a court order — UAH 28,170 per child.
The example does not determine a future payment amount. Choosing between a share of income and a fixed amount requires checking the child’s needs, income, property, expenses, and procedural route.
What to prepare for review
- The child’s birth certificate or another document establishing the child’s parentage.
- Documents about the child’s and applicant’s residence, if required for the selected court.
- Calculation of a child’s monthly needs: food, housing, education, treatment, transport, and development.
- Evidence of the payer’s income, property, and expenses is known, along with information about other dependants.
- Correspondence, transfers, and other evidence of voluntary support or refusal to provide it.
- Draft notarial agreement, prior court decisions, or enforcement documents, if any.
- Explains choosing an income share, fixed amount, or a combination in cases permitted by law.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum child-support amount in 2026?
The guaranteed minimum for one child is at least 50% of the subsistence minimum for that age: UAH 1,408.50 for a child under 6 and UAH 1,756 for a child aged 6 to 18. This does not mean the court will always limit the award to this amount.
What is the minimum recommended child support amount?
This is the full subsistence minimum for a child of the relevant age: UAH 2,817 or UAH 3,512 in 2026. The court may award this minimum if the child-support payer has sufficient income.
Is 10 subsistence minimums the maximum child-support amount?
Not in every situation. The tenfold limit per child expressly applies to the share of earnings that may be sought through a court order under point 4 of part one of Article 161 of the Civil Procedure Code. A claim or notarized agreement requires a separate assessment.
Can I obtain a court order without filing a claim?
Yes, for the claims expressly listed in points 4 and 5 of part one of Article 161 of the Civil Procedure Code, if they do not involve establishing or disputing paternity or maternity or joining other interested persons. Other circumstances require a claim.
From what date is alimony awarded?
As a general rule under Article 191 of the Family Code, the period begins on the date the claim is filed, or, for a court order, on the date the application for its issuance is filed. A claim for an earlier period requires evidence that the applicant took steps but did not receive support because the payer evaded payment.
Does the recipient pay the court fee?
Claimants in child-support recovery cases are exempt from court fees during consideration of the case. Before filing other related claims, check whether the exemption applies to each one.
