Complaint to an investigating judge
Deadline calculator for a complaint about an investigator’s inaction
Select the situation and enter the date from which the time limit runs in your case. For Kyiv, this helps avoid losing procedural time before applying to an investigating judge, but does not replace checking investigative jurisdiction, the crime report and correspondence.

Calculation of the 10-day period
The CPC sets 10 days to challenge a decision, action, or inaction by an investigator or prosecutor. For a ruling, the period is usually counted from the day its copy is received.
For a situation where you learned that an investigator or prosecutor failed to take a procedural action.
This may be the date you learned of the omission, the date you received a copy of the order, or the date after the 24-hour period for entering information in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations expired.

What this calculation shows
A complaint to an investigating judge under the CPC must be filed promptly. Common situations include failure to enter information in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations after a criminal offense report, failure to take a procedural action, or a ruling by an investigator or prosecutor.
The calculator provides only a calendar reference. Before filing, check whether this specific omission is appealable under Article 303 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which court should hear the complaint, and what evidence of the date the applicant has.

Frequently asked questions
From what date should a complaint concerning the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations be counted?

Where to file a complaint in Kyiv?
Usually, a complaint is filed with the investigating judge of the local court connected to the pre-trial investigation authority. Check the specific court based on jurisdiction and the authority’s address.
What to do if 10 days have passed?
