Vacation pay calculation
Vacation pay calculator under Procedure No. 100
Getting ready for annual leave at a Kyiv company or an employer in Kyiv region? Enter verified monthly accruals and days in the calculation period to independently check the payroll arithmetic. The tool stops if a special bonus allocation or tariff-rate calculation is needed.

Preliminary vacation pay calculation
Use pre-tax amounts, already excluding payments that Procedure No. 100 does not allow to be included.
Enter 1 to 12 amounts separated by semicolons or new lines. These should be legally verified monthly amounts, not simply salary or take-home pay.
Usually, this is the 12 months before the month of leave; with a shorter insurance record, the period may be shorter.
Do not automatically exclude public holidays: Article 73 of the Labour Code does not apply during martial law.
Use the duration stated in the request and order for this specific rest period.

How Procedure No. 100 calculates average daily wages
For annual leave pay, the calculation period is usually the 12 calendar months before the month in which leave begins. If employment lasted less than a year, use the full calendar months actually worked, subject to Procedure No. 100.
Exclude payments that are not counted from the accrued amounts, and include bonuses and other incentive payments under the special rules. That is why the calculator accepts monthly amounts only after legal and accounting classification, and stops the calculation if a bonus has not been allocated.
Only the periods specified by Procedure No. 100 are excluded from calendar days: periods when the employee did not work and earnings were not retained or were only partly retained, as well as certain cases involving missing data during martial law. During martial law, public holidays and non-working days under Article 73 of the Labour Code are not automatically excluded.
Calculation methodology
Methodology without hidden assumptions
- We identify the month when annual leave begins and the applicable 12-month or shorter calculation period.
- For each month, use gross accruals already checked against the list of included and excluded payments under Procedure No. 100.
- We separately count the calendar days in the entire period and only those days that have a legal basis for exclusion.
- We divide the amount by the difference between calendar days and excluded days, without rounding the intermediate result.
- Multiply by the paid days of annual leave and round the final gross amount to the nearest kopeck.
Example for an employee at a Kyiv office
Vacation begins in September 2026. The twelve verified monthly amounts total UAH 400,000; the calculation period has 365 calendar days, there are no statutory exclusions, and 14 vacation days are paid.
- Included accruals: UAH 400,000.00
- Days in the denominator: 365 − 0 = 365
- Paid leave: 14 calendar days
400,000 ÷ 365 × 14 = UAH 15,342.47 gross. The average daily amount of UAH 1,095.89 is shown for reference and is not used as a rounded intermediate base.
The example is valid only if all payments are correctly included in UAH 400,000 and there is no bonus that needs allocation.

Frequently asked questions
Which period of salary should be used for vacation pay?
Usually, use the 12 calendar months before the month in which leave begins. If the employee has worked for less than a year, use the shorter actual period under paragraph 2 of Procedure No. 100.
Should public holidays in 2026 be excluded?
Not automatically. During martial law, Article 73 of the Labour Code rules on public holidays and non-working days do not apply. Exclude a day only on another applicable ground under Procedure No. 100.
Why does the calculator stop when there is an annual bonus?
Bonuses and other incentive payments may be included in earnings in portions across the months to which they relate. Entering the entire amount in the payment month may distort the result.
When must the employer pay vacation pay?
The current general rule is payment before leave begins. An employment or collective agreement or statute may set another time, so the old universal “three days before” rule should not be applied automatically.
How does this calculator differ from leave compensation?
It calculates average salary for the actual annual leave period. Compensation for unused days has a different payment date and may require separating entitlements through the end of 2023 from those beginning in 2024.
