Fee for a civil appeal
Court fee calculator for a civil appeal
Enter not the amount on the receipt, but the court fee rate payable for the original claim specifically in relation to the disputed amount. The tool shows 150%, the 2026 upper limit and any reduction for electronic filing.

Court fee calculation for an appeal
For one ordinary property claim by an individual, with no exemption or special dispute category.
Filing an appeal in 2026 against a decision in an individual’s civil property case. First determine for yourself the rate applicable to the original claim for the disputed amount, taking into account the year the original claim was filed.
Enter the rate that was payable, excluding the electronic filing coefficient, benefits, surcharges or refunds. This is not necessarily the amount on the actual receipt.
The 0.8 coefficient concerns a procedural document filed electronically.
Preliminary calculation
2026The result depends on the correct base rate for the disputed portion. Check exemptions, special case categories, and other claims separately before payment.
- Base rate
- 5 000,00 UAH
- 150% of the rate
- 7 500,00 UAH
- 2026 limit
- 26 624,00 UAH
- Filing coefficient
- 0,8
After applying the cap: 7 500,00 UAH. The upper limit did not change the amount.
5 000,00 UAH × 150% = 7 500,00 UAH; 7 500,00 UAH × 0,8 = 6 000,00 UAH
The brief summary is easy to paste into a message to a lawyer or save for yourself.
Where the amount comes from
For an appeal against a decision in an ordinary civil property case, the fee is 150% of the fee payable for the original claim, limited to the disputed amount. The reference is the statutory fee, not the amount actually paid after an exemption or error.
For an individual or sole proprietor in 2026, the upper limit for a property claim is UAH 26,624. For electronic filing, a 0.8 coefficient applies to the relevant rate.
If the original claim was filed in a different year, its rate is determined under that year’s rules. UAH 3,328 is the subsistence minimum as of January 1, 2026, used for the cap on the appeal fee; it is not a universal basis for every older claim.
Calculation methodology
Calculation methodology
- We accept the verified statutory rate of the original property claim for the disputed amount, not the amount actually paid.
- Multiply this rate by 1.5 and round to the nearest kopeck.
- We compare the result with the UAH 26,624 limit for an individual’s appeal in 2026.
- For an electronic complaint, multiply the lower of the two values by 0.8 and round again to the nearest kopeck.
- We show all intermediate values and remind you to check exemptions and payment details.
Example of a case in Kyiv
An individual is appealing a decision in an ordinary pecuniary dispute heard by a district court in Kyiv. The verified fee for the original claim within the challenged demands is UAH 5,000. The appeal will be filed electronically in 2026.
- Base rate: UAH 5,000
- Filing method: electronic
- 2026 limit: UAH 26,624
5,000 × 150% = UAH 7,500; the cap does not change the amount; 7,500 × 0.8 = approximately UAH 6,000 payable.
The example applies only if the rate for the disputed amount is correctly determined, no exemptions apply, and the document is properly filed electronically.

Frequently asked questions
Can the amount on the receipt for the original claim be entered?
Only if it exactly matches the rate payable on the disputed amount. An exemption, electronic filing coefficient, overpayment, or partial appeal may make the receipt unsuitable as the basis.
Why is the maximum UAH 26,624?
For a 2026 appeal against a decision on a property claim by an individual or sole proprietor, the law caps the fee at eight subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons: 8 × UAH 3,328.
How does electronic filing affect the amount?
After determining the rate subject to the cap, the calculator applies the 0.8 coefficient. No reduction applies to paper filing.
What to do if the claim was filed before 2026?
Determine the rate for the original claim based on the legal regime in effect when it was filed, then enter it in the calculator for an appeal filed in 2026.
How to calculate an appeal against only part of a decision?
The base must relate to the disputed amount. If a decision contains several claims or their parts are difficult to separate, an individual review is needed; simply using a proportion of the paid receipt may produce an incorrect result.
Where can I find the payment details?
On the official Judiciary portal, open the page for the relevant court of appeal and the “Court Fee” section. Check the payment details, purpose, and recipient immediately before paying.
